In order to properly conduct university business, Duke University requires every student to keep accurate and current address information on file. With the exception of addresses linked to campus post office boxes or residence halls, students can update all of their own address information via ACES.

There are several types of addresses that students are required to keep up to date. The address usages and requirements are somewhat different for undergraduate students versus graduate professional students:

If the above required addresses are not current or correct, Duke University reserves the right to place restrictions on students' records until the addresses are updated. Students are asked three times a academic year (once each term, including summer) to verify that their addresses are correct in ACES.
